News: In July 2008, GreenRoad Technologies, a world leader in driver safety technologies, announced that Amadeus Capital Partners, the European technology investor, has joined Virgin Green Fund, Benchmark Capital, and Balderton Capital in providing C round financing of $17.5 million. The funding will be used to expand the company’s R&D, sales and marketing efforts. Richard Anton, Amadeus Partner, becomes the newest member of GreenRoad’s Board of Directors.

In May 2009, GreenRoad announced that it has raised $15 million in growth funding. DAG Ventures, a venture capital investment partnership, led the round with participation from existing investors Benchmark Capital, Virgin Green Fund, Amadeus Capital and Balderton Capital. GreenRoad also announced that Nick Pianim, managing director at DAG Ventures, was appointed to the company’s board of directors.

Pat Burtis, an investment manager with Amadeus, focuses on the Cleantech sector. Prior to Amadeus, he was an independent management consultant for 7 years in the cleantech, life sciences and materials science fields. He co-led Amadeus’ investment in GreenRoad.

With £10 million under management and up to £10 million for co-investment from Amadeus III, the Amadeus and Angels Seed Fund (AASF) focuses on seed stage technology companies in the UK. AASF is jointly funded by Amadeus, the UK Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, business angels and private investors. As a result, AASF has access to proprietary, high-quality deal flow, complemented by the discipline of a large VC fund and the expert knowledge of business angels.
